Privacy & submissions × On Your Block helps visitors discover businesses and lets business owners submit listing details or advertising enquiries. Descriptions come from business websites or owner submissions. Listings are reviewed before publication; being listed is not an endorsement.
We collect the business name, service city, category, optional website, optional public business address, description, and a private contact email. We use this information to review the submission, respond to enquiries, and prepare approved public listings. Your contact email is not included in public listing exports. Submission does not subscribe you to marketing or guarantee publication.
Private submission records are removed from our active submissions database by a daily cleanup after 90 days from submission. Approved public listing information remains until corrected or removed. You can request earlier access, correction, or deletion at privacy@onyourblock.ca . We may need to confirm you are authorised to change the business information. Provider backup copies follow the provider’s lifecycle.
Cloudflare hosts the site, stores submissions, and provides Turnstile spam protection. Google Fonts supplies the fonts. These providers may process connection and device information to deliver their services. We do not run advertising trackers or marketing subscriptions. On public production pages, Google Analytics runs only if you choose “Allow analytics”. Google receives cookie identifiers and visit/device information to measure page views. We exclude admin pages, submission fields, search queries, and referring URLs from Analytics. You can change your choice using Analytics preferences in the footer. Your choice is stored on your device for up to 180 days; declining keeps Google Analytics unloaded. Withdrawal stops future collection but does not erase data already sent. Google processes Analytics data under its own privacy policy; contact us for related privacy requests. Search runs in your browser. In local draft mode, a downloaded draft stays on your device and is not sent to us.
